Cataclysm is coming soon, The shelling is just around the corner, and the world is a mess. Indeed, life is great, right? During these difficult times, players have many questions about the changes that are occurring and have occurred already - questions about the rotations, specs, glyphs, questing, leveling, and raiding dungeoning. I like questions, and I like to respond even more, however, there is nothing as pure as a question. The questions are a beautiful thing, and that's what I want to focus in this article.
People (myself included) seem to have a love of questions, but the sad thing is that its only purpose seems to be also in the answers, never the question itself. That's a fundamental flaw, is that ever about the answer, but always about the issue. Asking the right questions can sometimes be more important than getting the answers - that's why I know your questions.
What is about balance druids - no balance druids - would like to know? What are your dreams for balance druids? If the balance druid can do anything, absolutely anything, what would you like? As for me, I have a lot of questions.
Why Moonkin?
There has been some balance druids that has bothered me since the druid go to the bottom of vanilla WoW: Why change the way-in Moonkin? Moonkin are the guardians of Elune magic, the protectors of sacred sites. For Night Elves, has a sense of touch is transformed into the mystical Moonkin, but where is the connection for tauren? They do not worship Elune, have no real following her, she is not a paragon of faith druid. Elune is a goddess of night elves. Why, then, the whole balance druids become their protectors?
Moreover, Moonkin is not even cast any spell. It was not until very recently we've seen any Owlkin species that are able to use Moonfire, until then, all creatures are melee only. You never know really advanced wheels, why they were chosen to be the central model of balance druids? To go even further, why druids balance the need for a specialized form of nothing? Our shape-shifting abilities have always been there to alter our capabilities to an entirely different than what we have. Cat form makes us in a melee, Bear Form makes us a way to tank, and Travel Form allows us also travel faster. Moonkin Form has never done any of these things have never changed our game of skill, not even really allowed us a better deal at all. So what was the point of creating Moonkin Form to get started?
The question then becomes, what is the point of having a Moonkin? Moonkin Form must play a vital role in our DPS, or if you just be there for utility purposes? Moonkin form has also been one of our main tools of defense against melee classes in PvP, which is as it should be? Moonkin Form must be our first line of defense against melee attacks, or if we have anything else?
You can go either way on many of these questions. For my part, I tend to think that the Moonkin form should be nothing more than an ability to use situationally. The druid class is usually change shape, however, simply disagree with the premise that this facet of our class must be defined in the sense that it always moves in one way or another. For feral druids, it makes sense that they remain in cat form and bear, as forms of changing the basic functionality of the class, however, Moonkin Form does not.
Druids are nature wheels. We cast spells perfectly well without the need to change our ways, taking into account that in reality it makes no sense to me that we should change the way buy wow gold that wild boars. Thus compound Moonkin is never having a place in the balance established tool - its mere existence seems to be huge for the sake of balance druids something to change their way.
I am of the opinion that it is a design flaw, things should not exist by the mere fact of its existence. Moonkin Form is required for a change so that actually does something, actually change the way our casting spells or functions, or need to be discarded completely. Maybe I'm biased by the fact that I would rather sit in a wheel where I can see my armor, anyway - and often told me I made the wrong kind if that's what you want - but not just doesn t ' seems to be a point in Moonkin Form. The damage increase is inserted into just to give us a reason to be there. I just think that instead of slapping a fundamental reason to be in Moonkin Form, Blizzard have wondered why there Moonkin Form first. What is the point of having the capacity?
Nature and arcane?
nature spells sense for balance druids - who are the masters of nature, after all - but how arcane factor into the equation? Balance druids have control over the natural forces of Azeroth, but why we also have power over the moon and the stars? How is that balance druids come to possess such power, and why does not extend to any of our other abilities? healing spells for all classes are limited to a specific school - the type used shamans, paladins and use holy priest. Why not druids who specialize in the duality of the forces to use arcane healing skills and spells based on nature? Is it purely a ratio of balance to prevent healers from being able to heal from two different schools if it is locked?
Does the druid version of arcane power to all connected to the version of wizard? Mago is purely arcane, magic, face is raw, without altering the magical ability. So what does that make the druid version of arcane magic? It is our only really arcane magic of nature in a different way? Is this too simple rather than confrontation of reasons? Why is that balance druids took their name too literally? Eclipse, volatile mechanic we have loved and hated since its inception has been declared to be a tool for balance druids balance between our two schools of magic for us to work on a balance between nature and arcane. Does this mean then that our arcane magic is not based in nature at all, but comes from the same source as the magic magician?
The balance of forces that we do, the change between nature and arcane - has actually proven to be an improvement over our old level of Starfire spam? Is it a better system than other classes have been developed? Balance druids are the only ones who are the kind of pitcher who uses only two different nuclear seasons with no associated cooldown. Wrath and Starfire can be junk mail every time we choose, so it takes a mechanic as Eclipse for us to switch between the two. It has worked so far - but the question is not whether or not the mechanic can work, but rather should remain to start? Should we change between nature and arcane damage? Or maybe we should try a different method, perhaps we should change it to the fire mage system, which can be stacked critical for fireball or domain stack for Frostfire Bolt. Maybe we should follow the same example, perhaps we should be able to $20 choose among critics of stacking and mastery of anger or haste stacking Starfire - or a different mix of statistics of our spells.
Do not get me wrong, the new Eclipse is an exceptional mechanic, all I can do enjoy, but that does not right or the only option. Eclipse has been problematic since its inception. Blizzard has tried everything possible to make it work, and is still trying to make it work. The domain is a terrible statistic for balance druids, who may end up causing problems of scale for balance druids, depending on how the expansion of other kinds of vessels and equipment has been designed. We are now in a position where we are more or less going to relaunch any form of domination in our team when we hurry - which is not a design flaw? Is the failure of the scale or your mechanic? Maybe it's time to try something different, also Eclipse at this time.
Obviously it is too late in beta to make such radical changes, and I want to, anyway. Eclipse is a good mechanic in the background, is simply a matter of scale and balance needs to be done for balance druids to work in the final. The simple fact remains, the rush is too good for us both critical and domain are too weak. What can we do to change this in the future? You can even become a problem?
In the absence of a single service
Homogenization is one of the great buzzwords of anger and upheaval for each class and spec out there. Profits and losses are being matched between classes that put them in an effort to make it easier to stack attack, however, if players do not admit to it or $20, each class or specifications still brings their own unique abilities that can help foray into forms which often underestimated. Mages have Blink and Ward Wizard, which can be very useful in a variety of situations, demonic sorcerers have Teleport Stones Health, and a variety of pet skills that can help the raid in ways that are often not as tangible as a straight buff. The druids, balance druids in particular, have always stimulate and rebirth as our little niche only bring to an attack, however, both have been significant damage to the expansion pack.
Encourage received a severe blow to the power of feral druids. balance druids still have a relatively strong stimulus, however, balance druids are required to use to stimulate themselves in order to maintain our mana. This is not very problematic in the grand scheme of things. The issue I take with it is that supply has always been our fans little to bring to the band. Stimulating is our Blink, our House of Health, has been that one thing we've had no one else can bring.
Renaissance, also falls into the same category. Bringing back dead limbs attack is big business - so big, in fact, that Blizzard is so scared that druids stack will attack all varieties of this specific power. Not that I share that fear, but the mechanics have been meeting in the past that have supported the stacking of the Druids of the Renaissance. To prevent this $20, Blizzard has restricted the use of combat resurrections one from each of 10 men and three in one of 25 players. While I agree with this change, only chips away at the unique flavor that balance druids bring to an attack.
What then, do we now? What unique skills to balance druids bring to the table? What skills should bring to the table? Utility is not always so cut and dry as people might think, however, the little extra things can make a balance druid that nobody else is capable of? What small capacity, we have noticed that perhaps distinguishes us from others? What skills might have that could be changed to give us this useful?
I've talked before I think the thorns turn away from an offensive capability in a capacity of more defensive that can be used to reduce the threat would be a big change in general balance druids. Also give us additional income would be stellar in any raid environment United Stated. It would be the one for us as the champions also have this capability, however, would still be a great start, and there is much more that could be done. Force of Nature is a priority for the provision of additional public services that perhaps only a balance druid can bring. There are also Faerie Fire, which is great for feral druids feral aggression and talent, but for balance druids, is a spell that has little or no value to us. Maybe we could get a talent to allow Faerie Fire to do more for us to give a little extra power is missing.
Remember, however, the utility must always be on the increase in damages - which may be methods that help you survive or face encounter mechanics differently. Again, check with Blink magicians. Blink is great for the passes of the Lich King, and Warlocks have demonic Teleport Valks to address the meeting also. None of these DPS increase in a literal sense, but both of these skills are amazing they have for this meeting. Balance druids need. We need a bit of our set of tools that helps us shine in strange situations where others do not.
What do you think?
Questioning the design intent of skills and general concepts of the game is the very foundation of making a better game. WoW is always changing, and despite what some players may feel, the playerbase is the driving force behind these changes. Blizzard questions every change you make, but constantly questions every ounce of your design. Players should be no different. Questioning the ability or the direction it is taking a specification, which can cause Blizzard to also search on these issues by itself. We may or may not achieve the changes we are looking for, but never should be the point United Stated.
We question things because we care about our class, our specification, and we want the best you can, we want to correct any defects that may be felt within the system. Beta is ending soon, cataclysm could be just around the bend of the river, but that does not mean you should never stop questioning things. In forums, on their personal blogs, and here at WoW Insider, always ask what could be changed to improve balance druids. Blizzard pays attention to the community, developers can read their forums and other websites, and pay attention.
I asked my questions of Blizzard, and now I want to do the same. What do you think could be done to take stock of a better spec druids more enjoyable to play - whether for PvE or PvP. If you could change anything at all about balance druids, what would it be United Stated? Do you like the new mechanics of Eclipse? Do you like Moonkin Form? How useful do you think raid balance druids should go? How should you take? Blizzard is always listening, and there is never a bad time to give information, so now is still the perfect time to ask questions.
